CHEMICAL TESTING

Lord’s believes in compiling healthy herbs in order to maintain remedial components and stores them well under optimal storage conditions. The next most important consideration is acquiring the purest quality of alcohol i.e. ENA- extra neutral alcohol (free from impurities and odor) used for preparation of Mother Tinctures, Dilutions and other special liquid Patents.

Lord’s conducts several analysis of alcohol to determine its purity through Gas Chromatography and other chemical methods.

 

Quality DM Water plant plays a vital role in assuring that the water used for pharmaceutical purposes is free from any kind of infectivity from any substance, metal or otherwise.

This water is tested through conductivity test to ensure that the water is free from toxins.

Another differentiating factor is the high grade Lactose imported from Holland/Germany, ensuring premium quality of medicines at LORD’S. Our lactose has the highest consistency with phenomenal clarity, thus ensuring uniformity of tablets, quick disintegration and better action of remedies.

Purity checks at various levels are conducted to maintain a superior quality through procedures like Microscopy, Calorimetric Analysis, and Ultraviolet Spectrophotometers. The unit’s environment is suitably controlled by Air Handling Units (AHU) and HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) air filters that modify the temperature, humidity and keep in check ventilation of air.

Use of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) that comprises the use of chromatographic layers of utmost separation efficiency and the employment of state-of-the-art instrumentation for all steps in the procedure: precise sample application, standardized reproducible chromatogram development and software controlled evaluation.

Modern equipment like glass and 316 grade stainless steel containers, Hydraulic presses, Percolators, Macerators and Stirrers are used for Mother Tinctures, Dilutions sections.

Back potencies of dilutions are prepared in-house through automatic potentisers

For Tablets Fluid Bed Dryer Machine (FBD), Rapid Mixer Granulator (RMG), Automated Triturators and other equipment are deployed. Similarly, liquid formulations are manufactured with fully automated online multi head machines with specific emphasis to eliminate human touch. Same level of technology is deployed for other sections also, including ointments, cosmetics etc.

Standard operating procedures for cleaning and sanitization, personal hygiene of workers, general and specific upkeep of the plant, equipment and premises and every activity associated with manufacturing of drug testing and warehousing of materials are written and adopted.

Both units have separate effluent treatment plants for the treatment of composite effluent ensuring environment friendly removal of organic compounds, debris, dirt, grit, pollution, toxic and non-toxic materials.
